Perhaps just slightly more painful than watching Jeb Bush beg for applause. The speech given by Sarah Palin to the GOP party fundraiser in Milwaukee Wisconsin, should be classified as torture. This snoozer of the speech received applause three times. When she referenced football, defeating Hillary Clinton and when she signaled that she was done speaking. I have often found myself in agreement with Sarah Palin however this was not one of those times. She has gone full Trumptard, and thus has adopted his tendencies for attacks with no facts and vague explanations of talking points.
Sarah Palin starts off this exhaustingly boring speech with an extremely little-known fact. Her dad played high school football with a guy who played a guy that was a Green Bay Packer. He was "such a cheese head." This was clearly an attempt to gain some half measure rapport with her audience. This embarrassment of the speech was broken up into three major points, illegal immigration, trade, national defense. Illegal immigration: According to Sarah Palin Donald Trump is the only one that understands the realities of illegal immigration. She is correct in only one aspect of this. Donald Trump is the only one with direct experience hiring illegal immigrants. It is been proven and a matter of public record that Donald Trump's organizations the faced charges in the past for hiring illegal immigrants. The funniest part of this lecture was when she affirms that Trump balances budgets. His subsidiaries have declared bankruptcy four times and Trump several failed businesses disappeared because of excessive debt. These companies like so many others had to be sold off for scraps to that Trump didn't have to declare bankruptcy yet again. Sarah Palin seems to have forgotten this little factoid when she was ripping Ted Cruz without mentioning his name for providing relief packages for impoverished children at the border. All while perpetuating The blatant lie that conservatives and Republicans weren't discussing The need for border security before Donald Trump brought it up last year. She sites Ted Cruz is former position on legal immigration for stem jobs as proof that we've been betrayed. Even though he has clearly several times shouted from the rooftops that because the system has been abused he has changed his position on this. People are allowed to change their position on things especially when that position has been informed with facts and new information. Donald Trump gives no real reason for his old positions being completely contrary to his current ones other than… Well that was my old position. Trade: On this topic Sarah Palin does make a few good points to start off. She points out that bad deals have been made, we all can agree to that. She then begins to unload on Ted Cruz on TPA, again without using his name. Apparently she forgot that the whole dustup with Mitch McConnell last year were Ted Cruz called him a liar on the floor of the Senate was because establishment lied about TPA and senators ability to propose amendments. These amendments would have taken the teeth out of these trade deals. Ted Cruz was willing to agree to TPA as long as they were allowed to propose amendments blocking certain subsidies for private organizations in the form of massive crony capitalism dollars. But the key issue was Senators such as Ted Cruz we're attempting to block the import export bank. Ted Cruz's move to stand up to the Senate majority leader on this issue proved the Ted Cruz was the consummate outsider to the establishment. Apparently Sarah Palin was of watching the news last year. In addition to that she apparently never read Ted Cruz is booked for the whole first section is committed to this very issue. Palin proves to US that she is very much in need of a Hillsdale College free course in economics. Suggesting that massive tariffs on the nation of China would add a penny to the cost of goods is laughable. Trump has threatened to add up to a 45% tariff, adding 45% to the price that we the consumers pay at the register. She also embarrassed herself by making reference to Reagan and his high tariffs on individual companies, not entire nations. Reagan was an Amazing President and truly great man. He was not a God and he was not perfect. National Defense: Suggesting that Donald trump has what it takes to keep us safe when we still can't nail him down on an actual policy, is laughable. Especially because his YUGE brain is his stated main adviser on foreign policy. No Sarah Palin he is not leaning on "TOP BRASS" he stated that he himself is the key to his plans. She indicates that The Cruz policy is a "reckless nation building scheme." Also implicating that Cruz is soft on the military and wont be able to use might to protect our interests. This is absurd and anyone with half a brain can see that Ted Cruz is very committed to crushing out enemies and fixing our broken foreign policies. Palin has lost a lot of credibility with me. I will keep an eye on her, I am very disappointed. Watch the full Speech Written by: Doug Coon |
